2013 NISSAN Xterra – Fluid Check Point

These maintenance items should be checked periodically. A good time to do it is when you refuel or check the engine oil.
• Transmission Fluid — When checking or replacing your transmission fluid, we recommend seeing your NISSAN dealer for servicing. Only use the fluid specified on the caution label in the engine compartment or refer to your Owner’s Manual for specific transmission fluid information. Use of any other fluid could damage the transmission.
• Battery Fluid — Check the fluid level in each cell, making sure it is between the MAXIMUM and MINIMUM lines.
• Brake Fluid — Make sure its level is between the fill lines.
• Engine Coolant — Check this level when the engine is off and the fluid is cold.
• Engine Oil — Check your engine oil while parked on a level surface, after waiting ten minutes for the oil to return to the oil pan.
• Power Steering Fluid — Check this when the engine is off and the fluid is cold.
• Windshield Washer Fluid — Check from time to time to see that there is an ample supply of fluid in the reservoir.
