Best Third Row Vehicles

Choosing a Third-Row Vehicle

We’re entering a world where third-row vehicles are becoming more and more practical. Whether you’ve got a bundle of little ones, are a travel enthusiast, or enjoy weekend camping trips, there is a lot of value in owning and operating a third-row vehicle. But, in today’s industry, there are a number of these utility vehicles to choose from. With so many options to choose from, it can be a hard and overwhelming task to find the right one. So, which is best for you? Well, that could depend on a lot of different things. Here is a short list of some top third-row competitors that may make your search faster and easier.

Chevrolet Traverse

This crossover SUV is designed with more than just the family in mind. Seating up to eight passengers, you’ll find there’s enough room for your whole family with the extra, full-size third row. Along with nice trunk space, you can load up the car and get ready for your next big adventure. The Traverse has folding rear seats, allowing storage space to increase at a moment’s notice. The Traverse gets 17 MPG city and 24 highway. This means you can get up to 520 highway miles on a single tank! Not too bad if you’re into road trips!

Nissan Quest

As a minivan, it’s no surprise that the Quest can comfortably seat seven adults. With safety as a high priority in the Quest’s design, it has six standard airbags, plus additional ones lining the roof and sides of the van. With an easy, sleek flip-and-fold system, the second and third rows can be configured to create more space within the car. There are also compartments underneath the rows that provide more storage space without clutter. For a minivan, this one packs a punch with 19 MPG city and 25 highway.

Ford Explorer

On the larger side, the Ford explorer continues to outshine many others in its class. With a design that is only getting cooler, you won’t lose your sense of style in this third-rower. As a third-row vehicle, it gets one of the best MPGs in its class, with 20 MPG city and 28 highway. This line has been dependable for many generations, bringing more and more people back to them. The second and third rows can be adjusted in whatever fashion you want to create more storage space, making it easy for you to pack whatever you need inside.

Ford Flex

Take it from me, if you’re looking for cool and comfortable, you may want to give a nice long look at the Ford Flex. As a smaller utility vehicle, this guy is still able to seat six people comfortably. In the SEL model, all seats even have individual heating options controlled by each passenger. The MPG is comparable to others in the third-row category with 18 MPG city and 25 highway. The Ford Flex’s third row offers a unique feature: its third row can be flipped backward to make rear-facing seat out of the vehicle. So, take your Flex to tailgate before sporting events, take it to cookouts, take it camping.
