Fun Small Cars

Most people tend to think bigger is better, but going small has its advantages. Small cars get good gas mileage, can squeeze into tight parking spaces, and they usually come with a price tag that is a fraction of the price of bigger vehicles. While small cars are certainly worth owning, some of them aren’t always very fun to drive. Here are three cars that give you everything you could want from a small car.

Nissan Cube

The Nissan Cube is a great choice if you want to have a hatchback for utility, good gas mileage, a low price tag, and good performance. While some people will consider the Cube an ugly vehicle, others love the boxy shape of the little car. The Nissan Cube gets over 30 miles per gallon on the highway and 27 miles per gallon in the city. It has a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine with 122 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque, and it is lightweight so the little 1.8-liter engine will allow you to zip around town or cruise comfortably on the highway. If you love Nissan, but don’t dig the Cube, the Juke is another cool option. Don’t forget to check out the NISMO packages.

Ford Fiesta

Ford brought back the Fiesta to the United States in 2009. Since its return, it has established itself as a major contender in the small car world. While all of the different trim levels of the Fiesta are a lot of fun to drive, the Fiesta ST Hatchback is probably the most fun. The ST is equipped with a 1.6-liter, 16-valve Ti-VCT Turbocharged Direct Injection EcoBoost I-4 engine with 197 horsepower and 202 lb-ft of torque. It’s a lot of fun to drive, and you still get well over 30 miles per gallon. Also, the Fiesta doesn’t have the goofy looks of the Cube. It is just an attractive car.

Mazda 3 Sport

The Mazda 3 Sport is one of those cars that will make you smile. It’s equipped with a 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G engine that puts out 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque, and it still gets up to 41 miles per gallon on the highway. It is a blast to drive, and it features a sleek and smooth design. The hatch on the back allows for plenty of storage while you’re tearing around town.
