Best Year-Round Vehicles

Winter means snow and ice, and snow and ice mean slick roads. Some vehicles are better suited to the different kinds of weather that you can encounter. While most modern cars will perform reasonably well in winter weather conditions, some are undeniably better than others. Here are a few of the best year-round vehicles.

Ford Fusion

The Ford Fusion may not be your first thought when you think of a year-round vehicle, but the it’s a great choice. It gets good gas mileage, is a great family sedan, and it’s available with several different options, including all-wheel drive. All-wheel drive can be extremely helpful in all weather conditions but is probably most useful when there is snow on the road.

Infiniti G25x

While Infiniti is known more for its luxury vehicles that come with a big price tag, the G25x is a luxury sport sedan that’s actually reasonably priced. The G25x is a great choice for someone who wants a sport sedan that can handle the weather any season throws at it. The G25x features a 218-horspower 2.5-liter V6 that provides power to all four wheels. Although the G25 is a sports sedan, it’s capable of getting up to 27 mpg. Pretty impressive package.

Honda CR-V

This compact crossover SUV is the kind of vehicle that does well in almost any situation. You can drive it when it’s snowy or sunny, and the utility of the vehicle means that you can tow and haul anything that you need. The CR-V is also affordable, which may set it apart from some other more expensive compact crossover SUVs.

Subaru Forester

Really any Subaru vehicle is a good year-round vehicle. All of Subaru’s vehicles, with the exception of the sporty BRZ, are all-wheel drive, and they all handle driving in bad weather extremely well. The Forester is a well-known and well-received SUV that is in the middle of Subaru’s lineup. It isn’t as big as the Tribeca, but it’s got a little more room than the XV Crosstrek.

Jeep Cherokee

Much like Subaru, all of the vehicles that Jeep manufactures handle well in any weather. Jeep’s vehicles are known for their off-roading abilities, and the Jeep Cherokee is no exception. The Cherokee has a rich history of practicality and reliability, making it a popular choice for many car buyers. Although Jeep stopped producing Cherokees for several years, this year they have debuted a new Cherokee and are boasting about its capabilities.
