2013 NISSAN Xterra – Adjustable Head Restraints

Your vehicle’s front seats have adjustable head restraints that may help provide protection against injury in certain accidents. The head restraint should be placed so its center is in line with the center of the ear.

To raise the head restraint, pull up. To lower, press and hold the LOCK knob while pushing the head restraint down.

Your vehicle’s front seats are also equipped with active head restraints that move forward during a rear-end collision to absorb some of the forces that may lead to whiplash. The active head restraints will only operate in certain situations and will return to their original position after the collision.
